Emma Wilkinson - fitness instructor

A community fitness instructor in Crewe and Nantwich has been shortlisted in North West awards.

Emma Wilkinson, who has been teaching in the area for 10 years, runs sessions for people who do not consider themselves into fitness.

Now Emma, who runs Clubbercise and Rockbox sessions, has been shortlisted for best regional instructor Northwest in the Community Fitness Awards.

The National Community Fitness Awards had more than 4,000 nominations for 1,000 applicants across all categories.

“This is great recognition,” said Emma.

“I have a brilliant community of local people that support each other and make my classes a friendly and no judgement atmosphere.

“We come together and support each other as well as local charities.

“This year was my sixth year of warming up the midnight walkers for St Luke’s Hospice Midnight Walk and many of my participants walked with me.”

“I have worked harder than ever in the last 12 months to hold my community of participants together, so this isn’t just for me.

“This is a reflection of my wonderful participants and just how lovely they make my classes, by being so welcoming so we can build that community amongst us and help me encourage more people to be active, we all help each other physically and mentally, as was well as supporting our local community further through charity events and fundraising.”

A public vote will make up 25% of the overall score, and the remaining 75% is made up of scores allocated by a panel of judges.
