A new restaurant and bar in Shavington is set to open later this month.
After months of refurbishing the former Elephant pub on Newcastle Road, the team behind SOLT will open its doors on Thursday 30th July.
The new venue is owned by local entrepreneurs Luke Dunlea and Luke Burns.
The venue has undergone a complete transformation into what they call a “design-led restaurant and cocktail bar built around exceptional hospitality, sharing plates and expertly crafted drinks”.
The founders have now launched an online bookings page and a chance for prospective customers to join a mailing list.
“We’ve been overwhelmed by the support we’ve had since announcing SOLT,” said co-founder Luke Dunlea.
“Now that we can finally share our opening date, it feels real.
“Every decision we’ve made has been about creating somewhere that people genuinely want to spend time in – somewhere you pop in for one drink and end up staying for hours.”
The interiors feature selected lighting, bespoke artwork, natural textures and more, with the aim of creating a “welcoming atmosphere from the moment they arrive”.
As well as the main restaurant and bar, SOLT also has a new glazed garden room a newly transformed outdoor terrace.
They have appointed head chef Martin Spendelow-Wrench, who they say has the experience and vision to shape SOLT’s seasonal small plates menu.
Martin said: “For me, great food is about bringing people together and giving them a reason to feel excited about what’s going to be on their plate.
“We’ve crafted a menu that’s designed to be shared around the table, sparking conversation and encouraging guests to try a little bit of everything.
“That’s exactly what SOLT is all about.”
Reservations are set to open this week, with subscribers to the SOLT list receiving exclusive early access on Thursday, before bookings are released publicly on Friday 17th July.
