Nantwich will host its first Independent Venue Week from January 28 to February 2.
The national initiative shines a spotlight on independent music venues and artists who keep them alive, with Nantwich joining the line-up of participating towns.

An exhibition called “Landscapes to Surrealism” by local artist Ray Perez has opened at Nantwich Museum and is due to run until Saturday February 15.
The exhibition has a penchant for strong colours employing a variety of techniques including water colour, gouache, oil, acrylic and coloured pencil to portray a wide variety of subjects from local landscapes to abstract and surrealism.
The Nantwich Singers will be giving their Christmas Concert “The Ivy and the Holly?” in St Mary’s Church in Nantwich on December 15.
Starting at 3pm, the concert will help put residents in a festive mood with new twists on old favourites, carols to join in with, poetry, and some new classics.
Nantwich Players will be bringing “The Flint Street Nativity” comedy to the stage in December.
The production written by Tim Firth, and directed by Adam Goode, will run from December 6-14, with evening performances starting at 7.45pm.
Boogie woogie, blues, swing and jazz are heading to Nantwich in the form of local musician Tom Seals.
Tom, who has performed all over the world, returns to his home town on December 7 for a one-off special concert in St Mary’s Church.
Thousands of people are set to pack in to Nantwich town centre next week for the traditional Christmas Lights switch on.

Local live music promoters Applestump Records and Moth Events are set to bring the unique soundscape to Nantwich in 2025.
An exhibition telling the story of prisoners of war in World War II with reference to those held in local camps and hostels has opened at Nantwich Museum.
There were 12 base camps in Cheshire during the war with numerous hostels housing low security “non-officer rank” men obliged to fight but who found themselves working in agriculture, forestry and War Department work.
