Aaron Burns, Nantwich Town

Nantwich Town’s former top scorer Aaron Burns is to re-join the Dabbers, it emerged today.

His current club Marine AFC has announced Burns has left them after they “received a 7 day notice of approach from Nantwich Town”.

Burns, 26, joined the Mariners from Nantwich in the summer and scored three goals in five Evo-Stik Premier Division appearances.

Burns told Nantwichnews: “Really happy to be back.

“This place feels like home. Looking forward to getting started and I’ve got to make up for the six games I’ve missed.

“I’m confident I can do that.”

Burns paid tribute to Nantwich boss Danny Johnson for reasons for a return to South Cheshire.

“The manager was a big part, I’ve known Dj five years now.

“However Andy jones and Phil Eastwood were integral in my move back. I believe the club can do well this season and I’m here to help towards that push.”

There has been no official statement from Nantwich Town or boss Danny Johnson today (September 4).

But sources close to the Weaver Stadium outfit say they hope paperwork should be complete in the next 24 hours.

That could mean Burns is eligible to make the long away trip to Kings Lynn on Saturday.
