Acton Operatic Society perform at the concert (1) (1)

Acton Operatic Society delighted a packed audience by performing a breath-taking concert featuring the hits of Rodgers & Hammerstein at Acton’s St Mary’s Church.

Among the songs performed were musical classics including There Is Nothing Like a Dame (South Pacific), I Enjoy Being a Girl (Flower Drum Song), I’m Gonna Wash That Man Right Outa My Hair (South Pacific), In My Own Little Corner (Cinderella), Hello, Young Lovers (The King and I), My Favorite Things (The Sound of Music), Do-Re-Mi (The Sound of Music), Climb Ev’ry Mountain (The Sound of Music).

They also preformed Edelweiss (The Sound of Music), Some Enchanted Evening (South Pacific), You’ll Never Walk Alone (Carousel), The Sound of Music (The Sound of Music), This Nearly Was Mine (South Pacific), If I Loved You (Carousel), Out of My Dreams Lyrics (Oklahoma), I Have Confidence (The Sound of Music), Bali Ha’I (South Pacific), and The Farmer And The Cowman (Oklahoma).

A raffle was held and refreshments were served during the interval.

Funds will be shared between Acton Operatic Society and St Mary’s Church, Acton.

Acton Operatic Society celebrate their centenary year in 2020, having been founded in 1920.

In celebration they are performing “Singing in the Rain” at Crewe Lyceum Theatre from October 13-17.
