Nantwich Food Festival organisers are among the finalists in the Shop Local Nantwich awards.
There are 11 Shop Local award categories in total, with the Food Festival among those shortlisted in the “Best Event Organiser” class.
Others shortlisted in that category include Nantwich Jazz Festival, JDL Mini Markets, Applestump Records and Cheshire Events Company.
A spokesperson for the Food Festival said: “We are delighted to hear we are a finalist for the ‘Best Event Organiser’ and eagerly awaits the result of all the votes cast.
“We are keen to take this opportunity to alert locals that this year there will not be the usual collection of food and gifts on behalf of Nantwich Foodbank.
“Plans were already in place for the usual collection when the news came that thanks to a generous donation, Nantwich Foodbank had sufficient funds that the usual event would not be needed.
“We are delighted that the Foodbank clients will have the Christmas they hope for. Look out for details of a spring collection on behalf of Nantwich Foodbank.”
