Fire crews from Nantwich helped tackle a blaze involving a combine harvester in Ridley.

The vehicle burst into flames at around midday yesterday (November 13th) off the A534 Wrexham Road.

Two fire engines from Tarporley and Nantwich were called to the scene.

A Cheshire Fire and Rescue Service spokesperson said: “Crews were called to a combine harvester well alight in a field.

“Firefighters wearing breathing apparatus used a hose reel to extinguish the fire.

“A thermal imaging camera was used to check for hotspots, and the surrounding area was dampened down to ensure the fire was fully out.”

It’s believed no one was injured in the incident.
