Hodkin signs for Dabbers

Nantwich Town have signed forward Jordan Hodkin from Crewe Alexandra on an initial one-month loan deal.

Hodkin, 18, arrives with a fine goal-scoring record in the youth teams.

He is a hardworking forward who has played for the Alex in both the EFL Cup and Vertu Trophy this season, scoring in the latter after signing his first professional contract last summer.

He has had previous loan spells at Hanley Town and Leek Town.

Dabbers manager Luke Goddard said: “A big thank you to Crewe and Kenny Lunt for helping sort this over the past few days.

“With a few knocks and a small squad, myself and Marc felt it was necessary to look at the loan market to just boost us ahead of a tough few weeks of fixtures.

“Jordan has a great reputation and can play anywhere in those forward areas which gives us the flexibility we want and fits into the way we see moving forward to have that energy and excitement to get supporters off their seats!

“It’s also important we continue to build our relations with the footballing world, something this club has been so good at over the years, so being trusted to help the development of another young player, as well as adding to our great blend currently here, is exciting.”

Hodkin becomes the first signing of the Goddard and Feighery era.

Meanwhile, the Dabbers will play Crewe Alex at home in the Cheshire Senior Cup semi-final on Tuesday 10th February at 7.45pm.

It will be the first meeting between the sides anywhere since 2023.

Tickets will be £9 for adults, £6 for concessions and £3 for U16s.

They will be available online soon but will also be available with cash or card on the gate on the night.

There will be a chance for Dabbers fans to meet new Nantwich Town’s new manager Luke Goddard, his staff and a few players at the Swansway Stadium on Thursday January 29th.

It will follow the NTISA’s monthly meeting at 7.30pm. All are welcome to both events.
