Big-hearted staff and youngsters at a Stapeley nursery have helped raise more than £1,500 for a hospice caring for seriously and terminally ill children.
Parklands Day Nursery chose to support Claire House Children’s Hospice throughout 2025.
By providing specialist nursery and end of life care, as well as emotional support, Claire House help families through some of the toughest times of their lives.
The hospice now supports more than 400 families in Cheshire, Merseyside and North Wales at two sites, offering day-care, complementary therapies, clinics, play and music sessions and counselling.
Parklands held a sponsored easter bunny hop, fundraising stay and play sessions, cake sales and a summer open day during the year.
And thanks to staff, parents, grandparents and the enthusiastic children, they raised an amazing £1,534.43.
Claire Bear visited the nursery recently to accept the donation which will go towards providing vital support for families.

Deborah Nettleton, manager at the nursery, said: “We are so pleased to be able to donate our funds to Clare House Hospice.
“Their local services make such a difference to entire families in so many ways when they are going through such a difficult time.
“We began our fundraising at the beginning of 2025 and our parents, children and staff team have all given so much support to the hospice and it is wonderful to see the results of us all working together for a shared and extremely worthwhile goal.”
Parklands Day Nursery opened in January 1997 set in picturesque grounds on First Dig Lane, and currently caters for 78 children from six weeks to five-years-old.
