A new sports bar and restaurant called GOAT is to open in Nantwich.
And those behind the concept say it will be a “game changer for Nantwich’s food and sports scene”.
The new venue will be on the corner of High Street and Waterlode, the site formerly home to Kennedy’s and Harrisons.
Those spearheading the project include Jono Yates, the social media influencer behind “Only Scrans” and Sam Hulme, founder of “Beauty of the Feast” digital food channel.
Sam Rock and Gary Evans, who run The Leopard in Nantwich, are also involved in the project.
They say the new venue will “become the ultimate destination for live sport and serious scran”.
GOAT will feature more than 15 big screens, a food offering, and a calendar synced to every major sporting event.
Renovation of the venue started today (May 27th), with a target opening date ahead of the new football season in mid August.
Jono said: “I’ve lived in Nantwich for most of my life and have always wanted to open my own place.
“There are loads of great pubs here, but nowhere that’s truly about sport.
“In the cities you’ve got options everywhere – huge screens, electric atmospheres. Smaller towns like ours get left behind.
“That’s what we’re changing with GOAT.”
Jono says it will also serve up a “unique house menu” with rotating guest appearances from “top-tier street food traders and chefs specially invited to serve during the biggest games and fight nights”.
He added: “The expectation on the food is massive, and we’re not shying away from that.
“We’re going to deliver something that people genuinely want to eat and shout about.
“Plus, the pop-ups we’ve got lined up will make GOAT a bit of a destination even beyond Nantwich.
“The plan is to bring in the best, when it matters most.”
GOAT has been almost two years in the making with work on a custom screen layout to carefully planned seating.
“The design is centred on giving everyone a perfect view, no matter the game. No more crowding around a single telly in the corner or turning up hours before kick off.”
GOAT promises to screen all the major sporting events such as the Champions League final, UFC title fight, the Ashes, the Super Bowl Sunday and more.

Good luck with the new venture lads.
I’m guessing it will be lagertastic. Any chance of some proper beer ? Anyway best of luck
Well I hope it works for them…. I suspect there is a reason many sporting events sell mediocre at best food, as its cheap and people are there for the sport, the social and the food keeps them sustained.

Agree and it will be with so many wide varied places to eat in Nantwich but how many people are going to want such exquisite food AND want to watch the sporting event or listen to those doing so.
