Nantwich Town striker Kai Evans has left to join Bury FC for an undisclosed fee.
The 21-year-old attacker joins The Shakers on the back of a standout 2024/25 campaign for the Dabbers.
Evans bagged 17 goals in the Northern Premier League West Division, the league Bury FC will play in 2025-26 after gaining promotion from North West Counties League.
In his first season in Cheshire in 2023-24, he scored 18 goals in 45 appearances across all competitions and won the club’s Young Player of the Season award.
Evans has won a string of awards and accolades this season, including Player of the Season and Goal of the Season, for Nantwich and supporters would have been hoping to retain his services for 2025-26.
But it was confirmed yesterday that he has signed for former League Two club and will play out of Gigg Lane.
Evans told Bury FC website: “I’m excited about this move to play for a club on a journey to move up the leagues with a massive fanbase.
“Once I met with the manager and viewed the stadium, I could feel the vision and this club is only going one way and that’s up the leagues.
“I’m buzzing and can’t wait to play in front of all the fans and show them what I can do. Let’s go.”
Dave McNabb, manager of Bury, said: “Kai is a young and exciting forward who has the ability to get the fans off their seat.
“He joins us on the back of a brilliant season with Nantwich where he scored 17 league goals and won numerous NPL awards.”
