A Royal visitor was in South Cheshire today to help mark the 350th anniversary of local employer Mornflake.
Princess Anne flew into Crewe on the royal helicopter and landed in a nearby field (pictured) before receiving a tour of Morning Foods Limited, on Gresty Road.
The visit to the North Western Mills highlights the long-standing contribution the family-run firm has made to British food production since its founding in 1675.
Officers were seen securing the area as the Princess was guided into the historic factory site, where she met with staff, toured the facilities, and learned more about the company’s heritage and operations.
According to the official royal diary, the engagement — listed as taking place on 29 July 2025 — marks a significant recognition of the role Mornflake has played in the local community and the wider UK economy for centuries.
The popular breakfast firm, long-time sponsors of Crewe Alexandra, has been producing cereal oats and employing local families for hundreds of years.
They also support many charities and causes, and as part of their 350th celebrations have been serving up donations to help small groups and organisations.
