A village pub near Nantwich is to close to undergo a major revamp.
The Tollemache Arms, in Alpraham, will be closing its doors on September 13th in preparation for a full bar and restaurant refurbishment.
The transformation of the pub on the A51 Chester Road is expected to take more than two months to complete, re-opening for December.
The refurbishment plans are being led by a design team from Robinsons Brewey, which owns the venue.
It will include the installation of two new log burners, cosy corners, larger capacity, and design plans aimed to return it to the countryside pub feel.
Dave Buxton, licensee at Tollemache Arms, said: “It’s the start of a very exciting time for the Tollemache Arms.
“We’ll be sharing all our progress on social media, so be sure to follow us on Instagram to watch things as they unfold.
“But, before then, we’re all hands on deck to give the usual warm welcome and service to all our great customers, before we bid farewell to the pub’s current look.”
The pub, which dates back to the 16th century, aims to re-open with its new look in time for the festive season later this year.
There will be a new festive menu and bookings for the Christmas period are being taken via email and social media.
They are also on the look out for new kitchen team members to join the team when they re-open.
Anyone interested can contact the pub on 01829 261716.
