Jonah - Granary Arts Cafe gig

A night of live music at The Granary Arts Café in Nantwich aims to push Moth Events’ fundraising total for mental health charities past the £20,000 mark.

The independent events group has been hosting grassroots gigs for good causes in Nantwich since 2020.

They have brought more than 80 acts to the Welsh Row venue including Mercury Prize Winner Fyfe Dangerfield, New York hip-hop star Pan Amsterdam, NME Hot 100 artist Hang Linton and many artists that have graced Glastonbury, Jools Holland and BBC Radio 6.

The gigs have raised more than £18,600 to date – including more than £5,500 for MidCheshire Mind, making them the charity’s biggest single fundraiser of the past three years.

Now, with their next show on Thursday December 11th, they’re hoping to smash through the £20k barrier with another unforgettable night of live performances and community spirit.

Their special festive live show will feature a trio of standout UK artists.

Headline act Louis Coupe, from Shropshire, combines timeless piano-led song-writing with a witty, affable knack for storytelling.

Also on the bill is electronic pop artist Megan Dixon Hood, who returns to The Granary Arts Café, having last performed at the venue in 2023.

And Nantwich’s Jonah Shaw – a rising local star whose debut single Tongue Tied has amassed more than 20,000 Spotify streams – completes the line-up.

The evening will also include a charity raffle with prizes donated by local favourites including GOAT and Jordy’s Pizza.

This year’s event is sponsored by G&M Engineering Associates, allowing 50% of every ticket sale to go directly to MidCheshire Mind.

Company Director Steve Gallimore said: “Music has been a big part of my life growing up, and the live music scene has faced real challenges lately.

“When Tim approached us about supporting this event, we were more than happy to get involved – it’s a great cause and a great night out.”

Daniel Harrison, Fundraising Lead at MidCheshire Mind, said: “Moth Events has now raised over £5,500 for MidCheshire Mind, making them our biggest single fundraiser in recent years.

“It’s a pleasure to support these events and see the community come together for such a fun and meaningful cause.

“Thanks to fundraisers like Moth, we’ve been able to expand our services across the area – including new bereavement support groups, wellbeing coaching, and the recently launched Maccas project for young people in Cheshire, which focuses on suicide awareness and emotional education.”
