Nantwich Cricket Club’s first team recorded three emphatic wins in six days to boost their challenges in the ECB Premier League and the T20 Cup.
The winning streak began with a remarkable win at Lindow CC, who won the toss and asked the visitors to bat.
After Ben Wright was dismissed for 43, Nantwich were 113-3 from 27 overs but skipper Luke Robinson (pictured) came to the crease and transformed the innings.
Robinson shared century partnerships with Jake Pearson (67) and Spencer Byatt (41) as the Dabbers amassed 347-6 from their 55 overs.
Robinson was out for 129, which came from only 70 balls and featured 12 sixes.
Mitchell Spencer (5-38) and Ray Doyle (5-27) then produced a bowling display that did justice to Robinson’s magnificent knock, rolling Lindow over for only 71 to record a 276-run victory.
The first team followed up their league victory with two wins in the T20 Cup, meaning they topped their four-team group and advanced to the knockout stages.
On Monday at Whitehouse Lane, Bollington CC were bowled out for 85 after electing to bat, with Doyle and Phil Stockton taking three wickets apiece.
Ali Chughtai top-scored with 35 as Nantwich reached their target with eight overs and eight wickets to spare.
It was almost as comfortable at Macclesfield CC on Thursday, even though the home side posted a decent total after also choosing to bat first.
Oil Griffiths took three wickets and Joe Bolton claimed a couple as Macclesfield made 143-8 from their 20 overs.
But Nantwich were always ahead of the rate in reply, Chughtai hit 35 and Robinson an unbeaten 45 as the visitors passed their target in 15 overs with only three wickets down.
The second team were also in league and cup action, losing by 40 runs to Didsbury CC at Whitehouse Lane, despite Freddie Sant (4-27) and Phil Stockton (3-25) helping restrict the visitors to 197 all out.
The home side lost wickets at crucial times in reply and fell well short of the target, Stockton top-scoring with 35.
But Alan Chesters’ team made a better fist of a run chase in their T20 Cup game against Winnington Park CC.
The visitors made 172-7 from their 20 overs after choosing to bat and the Dabbers reached their target with three wickets and nine balls to spare.
Joe Bolton hit 38 from 24 balls before Freddie Sant saw Nantwich home with an unbeaten 25 from 13 balls.
The Saturday thirds enjoyed a good win over Market Drayton after restricting the visitors to 171-8, William Leyland and Harley Rhodes taking three wickets apiece.
Rob West then top-scored with 43 as Nantwich reached their target with four wickets in hand.
The Sunday thirds also won, Callum Pearson and Oliver Howell leading the way with 72 apiece as Nantwich set home side Sale a target of 169.
That proved to be comfortable enough for the Dabbers, Freddie Sant and Austin Prince each taking three wickets as Sale were dismissed for 127.
The women’s first team suffered a disappointing defeat, falling to 86 all out after choosing to bat first against Hayfield CC at home.
Bethan Hughes took three wickets in the Hayfield reply but the visitors managed to get home with a couple of wickets to spare.
It is a big weekend at the club as Whitehouse Lane plays host to Cheshire on Sunday.
The county team will play two T20 matches against Cumbria, the first game starting at 11am.
All bar and catering facilities will be open, entrance is free and all spectators are welcome.
On Saturday, the second team are at home for a midday start against Cheadle.
