Detectives probing an assault on a 14-year-old boy near Nantwich Pool, have arrested a teenage girl.
The incident is believed to have taken place at about 4.20pm yesterday (April 30) in a field off Wall Lane, Nantwich.
The victim suffered minor injuries but did not require hospital treatment.
A video of the alleged attack has been circulating on social media pages.
Chief Superintendent Serena Kennedy, from Cheshire Police, said: “Investigations in relation to this incident are on-going and officers are currently following a number of lines of enquiry.
“We are aware that there were a large number of people in the area at the time this incident occurred and I am keen to speak to them as part of this investigation.
“I am also aware that this incident was filmed by a number of people and I ask anyone with any footage of the incident to come forward.”

A 15-year-old girl from Crewe has been arrested in relation to the incident.
She is currently being questioned by officers in police custody.
Some thing serious needs to happen to these so called people when they commit these crimes instead of just a slap on the wrist as its happening to often these days , that dragged up girls should be punished , what a coward she was only doing it while she had a crowd to back her up .. 100 % low life scum
