Nantwich-based dressage team the Cheshire Chicks are flying high after qualifying for the British Dressage Team Quest National Championships.
The team, consisting of Corrie Mclellan, Ellie Foster and mother and daughter Janet and Izzy Maughan, won through to the championships by taking second spot at the North West Regional Finals near Formby.
Ellie and Izzy, the youngest member at 16, have been part of the team since 2014.
And at the 2014 Championships they came third in the under 25s category.
This year they are joined by Corrie Mclellan, from Nantwich, and Izzy’s mum Janet, who is a member of Nantwich Riding Club.
Janet said: “I am so immensely proud to be a part of the team.
“The girls have all worked tremendously hard to achieve so much.
“This year is particularly bittersweet as it’s Ellie’s last year with us as she is moving on to more affiliated competitions.
“Corrie and Izzy have also qualified to compete as individuals in the My Quest section of the Championships in the Open and under 18s sections.”
Izzy Maughan has recently started training as an apprentice with Gemma Moss, the Audlem-based dressage trainer and rider.
She is now looking for sponsorship to allow her to compete at an affiliated level.
