Daffodils bloom across Nantwich as Spring takes hold

Bright yellow daffodils have begun to appear across Nantwich, Acton and surrounding villages, signalling the welcome arrival of meteorological Spring.

The cheerful flowers are now lining verges, parks and green spaces throughout Nantwich, with clusters also spotted in nearby Acton and other local areas including Wistaston and Willaston.

Residents fear Mill Island damage by Battle of Nantwich event

Residents are calling for the Battle of Nantwich re-enactment on Mill Island to be moved or cancelled because of saturated conditions.

Weeks of wet weather has left River Weaver levels very high (pictured), the ground at saturation point, and the island covered in early flowering daffodils.

Sainsbury’s donates flowers to Richmond Village Nantwich

Spring came early to residents of a Nantwich care home after a local supermarket donated over 50  bunches of daffodils. Sainsbury’s Nantwich,on Middlewich Road, donated the yellow flowers to Richmond Village, off London Road.
