Hundreds of Willaston residents turned out to witness the village green’s re-naming ceremony. The popular Nantwich village now has a green named after former parish councillor Mike Heywood, affectionately known as “Mr Willaston”.
A village green in Nantwich is to be officially renamed in honour of a late council stalwart. Willaston village green is to be called Mike Heywood Green in tribute to the former parish council chairman (pictured).
The award-winning Willaston in Bloom team has received funds of £440 from local councillor Brian Silvester. The money was part of £1,500 raised at a night of entertainment at Willaston Social Club to celebrate Cllr Silvester’s 35 years of service.
