Golfers helped to raise more than £13,000 for children’s hospices at a fundraising event at the Portal Hotel & Spa golf Championship course in Tarporley.
The Hope House Tŷ Gobaith Cheshire golf day, sponsored by Recycling UK, was classed as a major success and raised a brilliant £13,250.

Cheshire East’s “upgraded” planning system has come under fire as one councillor said she’s been inundated with complaints from residents unable to respond to consultations online.
Cllr Rachel Bailey (Audlem) said the number of complaints she’s had from Audlem residents and forwarded to planning officers “isn’t sustainable”.
A financial firm in Nantwich is to stage a one-off “budget breakfast” when George Osborne delivers his July budget.
Howard Worth are holding the event on July 15 at The Macdonald Portal Hotel, in Tarporley.
