Cheshire East Council chiefs say they are supporting the Home Office in rehoming Afghan families fleeing their home country after the dramatic events of the past few days.

CEC says it will provide temporary accommodation for an undisclosed number of Afghans following the Taliban takeover of the country as US forces withdraw.
