Nantwich Town boss Jimmy Quinn  welcomes a fellow Northern Irelander to the Weaver Stadiun today when Tommy Cassidy brings his Whitby Town side to visit.

Former Newcastle United midfielder Cassidy was manager at Workington Town before being appointed at Whitby last October. his first game was at Nantwich, which the Dabbers won 3-1.

Quinn will be hoping for a similar result to end a frustrating week with two 4-3 losses against Buxton and  Burscough.

Whitby turned their fortunes around with a good 2-0 victory at Stocksbridge in midweek and will be a tough nut for Nantwich to crack.

Meanwhile, Weaver Stadium officials have agreed to open two designated smoking areas in the ground after requests from supporters.

These will be in the corner of the stadium by the groundsman’s container and the corner diagonally opposite, by the portaloos.

The rest of the stadium remains non smoking. Kick off today (September 10)  is 3pm.
