A Nantwich and Cheshire based photographer has won two merit prizes for Classical Wedding and Landscape categories, in a major international photography awards.

Greg Daly’s image is now in the finals of the forthcoming Master Photographer of the Year Awards 2011, and in the running for the prestigious International Master Photographer Of The Year accolade.

The awards are run by The Master Photographers Association (MPA), the UK’s organisation for professional photographers.

Greg (pictured) goes forward to the final judging and will attend a ceremony in October to discover if he is the overall winner.

The ceremony will be held at the Gateshead Hilton in Newcastle-Upon-Tyne on Sunday October 9.

MPA chief executive Colin Buck said: “It is exciting to reach the Merit award stage of judging as Greg was in competition with the very best photographers in the world.

“There were over 2,500 images submitted this year so to be awarded two Merit prizes is a real success. Well done to Greg, and good luck in the final!”
