Santa’s little helpers will be busy in Nantwich this weekend when the GRWE Greyhound Rescue Christmas Fair comes to town.

The event at Nantwich Civic Hall will have more than 40 stalls selling shabby chic, jewellery, candles, and cakes.

Homemade dog biscuits will also be on sale, baked by nine-year-old GRWE supporter Scarlett Berry, who’’s raised over £2,000 for North West animal rescues in the last 12 months.

There will be a live band playing Christmas songs, a fancy dress competition for dogs and owners, an auction, a tombola and raffle of cuddly toys.

There will also be a chance to meet the GRWE ‘Sleighhounds’, who’ will be taking Santa and his sleigh on a tour around Nantwich town centre.

GRWE volunteer event coordinator Emma Bewley said: “We’’ve got a brilliant line-up this year.

“There really is something for everyone to enjoy. The GRWE Fair is a great way to start your Christmas shopping, and help raise much-needed funds for a good cause.”

Roberts Bakery, based in Northwich, and Waitrose have donated to help fund the event.”

It all starts at 11am and goes on until 4pm.
