Nantwich Litter Group, January 2013 pick

More than 25 volunteers turned out for Nantwich Litter Group’s first “Group Pick” of 2013.

The hardy residents braved the cold January morning to target litter found on Barony Road to the River Weaver, Middlewich Road to Sainsbury’s and Beam Heath Way.

Dozens of bags were filled and later collected by Streetscape, Cheshire East Council’s street cleansing department.

Afterwards the 26 volunteers enjoyed refreshments at Pillory House Coffee Shop, at Princes Court off Beam Heath Way.

Future Group Picks will be held on Wednesday February 6, meeting in Bowers Row Car Park (off Waterlode) at 12.15pm and Saturday February 23, meeting at 10am in Nantwich Town Square.

Anyone who would like to join in are welcome. Contact Team Leader Joyce Webb on 01270 626435 or email [email protected]

In the meantime all residents are encouraged to pick up the odd item of litter and place it in a convenient bin as every little helps to keep Nantwich tidy.

That is an impressive turnout. Brilliant effort, everyone! All Nantwich residents should be as proud of you as you obviously are of the town itself.
