Scores of Nantwich homes were without water for most of the day after a burst pipe.

Engineers from United Utilities worked throughout the afternoon to fix the leak on Shrewbridge Road, Nantwich.

It was first reported at about lunchtime, with many nearby houses without supplies or with very low water pressure.

A spokesman for United Utilities said tonight (June 10): “Our team of engineers has finished repairing the leaking pipe on Shrewbridge Road and the water should now be flowing normally again through your taps.

“We’re sorry if this has affected you and thank you for your patience.

“Because there’s been some disturbance to the pipes you may notice the water is a little discoloured, please check our Discoloured Water page for more information.”
