A young primary school pupil near Nantwich has achieved an incredible hat-trick – in horse showing.

Ten-year-old Annie Goodwin has just qualified to show at the Royal International Horse Show with pony Treowen Ranger.

That’s the third leg of an amazing triple success after also qualifying for the Horse of the Year Show and Olympia.

And the Audlem Primary School pupil, from Woore, near Nantwich, has achieved it all in her first year.

She won through to Olympia after winning at the Cheshire County Show.

Her pony, otherwise known as Bumpy, is kept and looked after at home and at age 17 qualifies for Veteran classes.

Annie’s mum Shannon Goodwin-Brown said: “To qualify for just one is a massive feat but Annie has managed to do all three in her first year of trying and coming off lead rein!

“Annie and Bumpy compete at shows all over the country and are fast becoming a force to be reckoned with.

“She is a mini celebrity at her school!

“In the showing world, there are only 20/25 qualifiers throughout the UK for HOYS and RIHS.

“So they are really competing with the cream of the crop.”
