santa festive run Queens Park

Father Christmas will be joined by hundreds of friends at the Festive Fun Run in Queens Park on Sunday December 7.

The event, organised by Friends of Queens Park, will see young and old taking part in a 3k or 5k run – or enjoy a gentle stroll with youngsters and a giant Snowman!

All runners and Snowman strollers need to be in the park and ready to go at 11am on the day.

3k & 5k runners are required to sign in between 10am-10.55am.

There is a £5 entry fee for the runs.

The Snowman stroll is a free event and doesn’t require you to sign in.

Organiser Leanne Haythorn said: “We are looking forward to the event and are lucky enough to have UK Triathlon supporting us.

“They bring with them over 25 years experience in organising triathlon and running events all over the UK so although this is our very first Festive Run we are confident runners/joggers and strollers will all have a wonderful time.”

The event will conclude at around 4.30pm with a Lantern parade to be attended by the mayor.

Lanterns have been made by local school children who will be walking them through the park.

There will also be carol singing.
