crewe and nantwich under 11s and 13s athletes celebrate medal success

Young Crewe and Nantwich athletes stormed to success against clubs across England at the annual Tom Pink Indoor Relays event.

Athletes in the under 11s and under 13s teams competed against the best in the North at the event at the England Institute of Sport in Sheffield.

And they came away with a string of medals to show for their hard work.

The under 13s girls won gold in the continuous relay, run over 1,500m, cheered on by hundreds of people in a packed crowd.

The girls (pictured below, left to right) – Hannah Whelan, Tia Campbell, Zoe Leydon, Holly Campbell and Evie Shorthose – stormed home several seconds ahead of their nearest rivals.

Under 13 boys were not to be outdone and they won bronze in 3x500m thanks to Peter Selby, Sam Burgess and Shaun Jones.

They also won bronze in the continuous relay, thanks to Sam Burgess, James Puttick, James Mitchell, Shaun Jones and Daniel Joy.

Under 11 girls teams won gold and bronze in the continuous relay.
