A major road in and out of Nantwich will be closed for six days from May 11.

Scottish Power works mean London Road either side of the level crossing will be closed to all traffic from May 11 to 17.

Diversions will be in place, with more traffic having to use the already busy London Road, B5074 Millstone Lane, Barony Road, A51 Nantwich Bypass, B5074 Newcastle Road routes.

Scottish Power need to close the road to lay a 33kv electric cable in the carriageway.

It comes after the A534 Crewe Road was closed off for several days by the Peacock roundabout and Millstone Lane roundabout for similar works.

And more roadworks will be in place between May 1 and June 1 on the A530 Middlewich Road near the Barony.

National Grid Gas will be carrying out “essential gas maintenance” in the road to replace old iron gas mains with more durable plastic pipes.
