edward timpson meets Nantwich Lake Wildlife conservation group

A new Nantwich Lake Wildlife Conservation group has met with Edward Timpson to outline plans for the town’s beauty spot.

The group, led by Caron Hull, has also been in contact with Cheshire East Council, Nantwich Town Council, RSPCA at Stapeley Grange, and Cheshire East Highways.

And volunteers from Stapeley Grange have joined the group with backing the centre’s manager, Lee Stewart.

Caron said: “We we are working alongside Lee to reduce the problems the area has encountered for a great number of years.”

Some members of the group met with Mr Timpson at the lake earlier this week.

“He was told of the problems, especially with the speed of traffic and ducks/swans crossing the road,” added Caron.

“He supports the group’s ideas and wants to be kept up to date with our progress.”

One of the problems they want to tackle is encouraging people to feed wildlife away from Shrewbridge Road.

A proposed ‘feeding area’ has been suggested on the grass area by the concrete boating ramp.

“We would hope to eventually have signs pointing out a couple of designated areas for feeding and also signs to discourage people feeding white bread,” Caron added.

“This has no nutritional value at all and can cause Angel wing, preventing swans/geese from being able to fly.”

They believe the new ‘dogs must be kept on a lead’ signs around the lake have improved the problem.

“People just need to be aware a dog chasing ducks/swans causes them stress they don’t need.”

Nantwich Lake Wildlife Conservation can be found on Facebook or email [email protected] for more information.

The group next meets tomorrow (May 2) at the Aroma coffee shop on Hospital Street from 3.30pm.

If the Tories get in again they will bring back fox hunting, I hope Timpson won’t be voting for this barbaric so called sport, shame on you Tory Boy.

    • Pure speculation by Jonny fox.

You are not involved in developing Government policy, therefore your claim that ‘If the Tories get in again they will bring back fox hunting’ is baseless.

Your comments are made from behind a mask- the pseudonym Jonny fox. Unmask yourself and tell us your true identity… coward…
