Litter Group preparing to pick before North West in Bloom

Big-hearted volunteers helped to spruce up Nantwich in time for the North West in Bloom judges.

Members of Nantwich Litter Group turned out for a big final pick before the judging took place in the town centre.

The group raised 21 volunteers to cover an extensive area of the town centre and perimeter.

Team Leader Joyce Webb paid tribute to the work of ANSA, Cheshire East Council‘s street cleansing team, who keep Nantwich looking good on a regular basis.

She also praised Nantwich in Bloom for “creating such an attractive floral environment for residents and visitors”.

Volunteers also helped at a recent Town Clean Up organised by Jeff Stubbs, Chairman of Nantwich Civic Society, which included weeding, washing plant containers and general tidying.

“Litter Group volunteers are all inspired by our wonderful town and in addition to litter picking enjoy the social element of working together,” said a group spokeswoman.

New volunteers are welcome.
