Showtime - Crewe Lyceum Theatre, to stage a wedding fayre, and summer events

Theatre fans have been delighted with the latest production from ‘talking Scarlet’ at Crewe Lyceum this week.

The company’s performance of ‘Sherlock Holmes and The Ripper Murders’ by Brian Clemens, has proved a real hit.

Directed by Patrick Kearns, this production presents the audience with a story we think we already know, but gives its own dramatic twists and turns.

And the cast does our beloved ‘Holmes’ and ‘Watson’ justice.

Samuel Clemens plays a fantastic ‘Holmes’.

However, it was George Telfer as ‘Watson’ who really won audience hearts.

Both actors worked together with perfect timing and were well cast for the roles.

Every Holmes story has to have a villain, and this production cast has ‘Sir William Gull’ – a dark and dangerous character who Andrew Paul played superbly.

The set and lighting were used together in an imaginative and effective way to portray Victorian London.

‘talking Scarlet’ have a production to be proud of, and they come highly recommended when they return to Crewe Lyceum.
