Showtime - Crewe Lyceum Theatre, to stage a wedding fayre, and summer events

The award-winning hit comedy Jeeves and Wooster in Perfect Nonsense arrives at Crewe Lyceum next month on its new UK tour September 14-16.

It follows two successful national tours and a year in the West End.

Winner of Best New Comedy at the 2014 Olivier Awards, the charmingly incompetent Bertie Wooster and his unflappable valet Jeeves are brought to life in this highly-acclaimed comedy by brothers Robert and David Goodale.

“Jeeves and Wooster are an iconic double act that comes to life in a raucously funny evening at the theatre,” said Lyceum marketing manager Gemma Whalley.

“For anyone who enjoys witty comedy and classic Wodehouse bon mots, this is a show that is sure to tickle your fancy.”

Perfect Nonsense has starred Stephen Mangan, Matthew Macfadyen, Robert Webb, John Gordon-Sinclair, Mark Heap and James Lance.

The new tour stars Matthew Carter (The Bill, The Princess of Wales) as Bertie Wooster, Joseph Chance (Wallander, Family Business) as Jeeves, and Robert Goodale (Foyle’s War, Holby City, Doc Martin) as Seppings.

When a country house weekend takes a turn for the worse, Bertie is unwittingly called on to play matchmaker and also to steal a silver cow creamer from Totleigh Towers.

The ever dependable Jeeves is there to prevent Bertie from making a fool of himself in front of a cast of Wodehouse’s finest characters.

Jeeves and Wooster in Perfect Nonsense appears at the Crewe Lyceum from Monday September 14 to Wednesday September 16 at 7.30pm, with a Wednesday matinee at 2.30pm.

Tickets start from £23 and are on sale via the Box Office or book online at www.crewelyceum.co.uk
