Courses for carers are to be run by the Alzheimer’s Society in Nantwich.

The Alzheimer’s Society Cheshire East team is running two courses to support those who care for people with dementia.

Carers Information and Support Programmes (CrISP) are being held at Brookfield Hall in Nantwich in February and March.

CrISP is a practical course led by trained Alzheimer’s Society staff.

There are two courses run over four weeks.

CrISP 1 is for people caring for patients with a recent diagnosis, while CrISP 2 is for those caring for someone with more progressive dementia.

The courses have been funded by Cheshire East Council.

Jo Hawkins, Alzheimer’s Society Cheshire operations manager, said: “The courses for carers of people with any type of dementia provide a wide range of information, details of coping strategies and how to look after yourself as well as planning for the future.

“Carers get to meet others in a similar situation and build supportive friendships.”

CrISP 1 will run at Nantwich Brookfield Hall from 1.30pm-4pm on Mondays February 22, February 29, March 7, and March 14.

CrISP 2 will run at Macclesfield St John’s The Evangelist Church from 10am-12.30pm, Tuesdays, February 23, March 1, March 8, March 15.
