Champions of Rock Queen at Lyceum

Champions of Rock, which celebrates the iconic music of Queen, comes to Crewe Lyceum on Sunday September 11.

The show will mark the 40th anniversary of Queen’s record-breaking 1976 concert.

Back then, Freddie Mercury, Brian May, Roger Taylor and John Deacon famously thrilled 150,000 fans crammed into London’s Hyde Park.

The Champions of Rock show recreates the fun, musicianship and showmanship of the legendary band, paying tribute to the landmark event and other stadium spectaculars.

Champions of Rock, praised by Brian May, Roger Taylor and Freddie Mercury’s family, stars the reigning National UK Tribute Awards winners.

The show takes the audience on an entertaining and exhilarating journey, revisiting all of the hits the band are so famous for.

Lyceum marketing officer Michelle May said: “Queen fans should prepare to be regally rocked ’til they drop with this fantastic, energetic live tribute which promises to be the next best thing to an original Queen concert!”

Huge hits by Queen included in the show are We are the Champions, We Will Rock You, A Kind of Magic, Crazy Little Thing Called Love, I Want to Break Free, Somebody to Love, Another One Bites the Dust and Bohemian Rhapsody.

Champions of Rock is live at Crewe Lyceum on September 11 at 7.30pm.
