‘The Very Best In Stand Up’ returns to Nantwich Civil Hall on October 7.

Four top stand up comedians from around the globe will be performing – led by compere Dave Johns on his return to the town.

Johns is a familiar TV face having appeared on Never Mind The Buzzcocks, 8 out of 10 cats and Rob Brydon’s Annually Retentive.

He also plays the title role in the upcoming Ken Loach film, I, Daniel Blake, which has already won the most prestigious award at Cannes, the Palme d’Or.

The film is set for UK release on October 21.

The evening’s first act comes all the way from Australia and is, quite literally, the biggest stand up comic you will see.

Colin Cole is a 6ft 7in comedian and actor who the New York Times described as “one of the most exciting performers to come out of Australia since skippy”.

Cole is a familiar face on Australian TV and has toured the US and Canada.

Now it’s the UK’s turn to enjoy his fast-paced topical and observational humour on his Nantwich debut.

Next on the bill is Angela Barnes (pictured, below), who began her stand up career in 2009 and only 18 months later won BBC Radio 2’s new comedy award.

She has also written and appeared on BBC radio 4’s The News Quiz.

Television appearances include Mock The Week, Russell Howard’s Good News and Alan Davies: As Yet Untitled.

The final act is fans’ favourite Andrew Ryan (pictured, above), who was last in Nantwich on December 31 2014, when he helped ring in the New Year.

Ryan’s quintessentially Irish story-telling abilities and friendly demeanour make him an enjoyable, and natural observational stand up.

He has been a must-see fixture at the Edinburgh Fringe since 2012, having received rave reviews with each year’s show.

The show takes place on Friday October 7 and tickets are on sale at £10.

Tickets available from Nantwich Civic Hall or from the SeeTickets at www.civiccomedy.co.uk

A limited number of table reservations are available to groups of six or more.

Doors open at 7.15pm and the show begins at 8.15pm.
