Worksop FA Cup 2018 - Nantwich manager Dave Cooke shakes hands before the game with Stevenage manager Darren Sarll

Nantwich Town return to FA Cup action this weekend when they host Worksop Town in the First Qualifying Round of the 2018-19 competition, writes Ryan Batty.

Worksop, who play in the Northern Counties East Premier Division, beat Carlton Town in the Preliminary Round and defeated Shepshed Dynamo in the Extra Preliminary Round.

The Dabbers reached the First Round Proper last season when they beat City of Liverpool, Shepshed Dynamo, Nuneaton and Kettering en route to their First Round defeat to League Two Stevenage.

The tie saw Dave Cooke’s men bow out of the competition in a 5-0 defeat at the Lamex Stadium, where they gave a fine account of themselves despite the scoreline.

Now the green and whites – who also reached the First Round Proper in 2011 losing 6-0 to MK Dons – are on the hunt for more cup fairytales!

On Saturday (September 8), they kick off at 3pm at the Weaver Stadium.

Admission prices are set at £10 for adults, £7 for concessions and £1 for U16s.

If the game is level after 90 minutes, a replay will be contested on Wednesday September 12 at Worksop’s Sandy Lane, 7.45pm kick off.
