Drivers are being warned that the key A500 route between M6 and South Cheshire will be closed overnight for almost two months from October 21.

The closure, to allow initial work on the £55 million dualling project, will be in place between A531/B5472 Meremoor Moss roundabout and M6 Junction 16.

Overnight road closures will be in place from 9.30pm to 5.30am seven days-a-week, from Monday October until Friday December 13.

The eight-week closures are in place to enable Cheshire East Council’s contractors, Balfour Beatty to conduct a series of surveys in the area.

This will inform the detailed design stage of the dualling project.

Surveys include ground investigations, drainage, topographical and environmental surveys.

The design team will be working with local landowners to minimise disruption during these activities.

Drivers are advised to plan ahead for their journey during this closure.

Why was the road closed off at 9:20 pm when it’s supposed to be 9:30 pm …? Not easy in an HGV ??
