Agric apprentice Chloe Cooper - lambing

Reaseheath College in Nantwich is inviting visitors to join its popular lambing and zoo weekends virtually this year while its campus remains closed due to Covid restrictions.

From today (Saturday February 27) until Sunday March 7, the college is offering a range of lambing and zoo related activities which families can enjoy online.

Daily bitesize educational videos about the lambing process and the care which is given to the newborns and their mothers are on offer from Monday to Friday.

Highlights from the lambing sheds are being uploaded regularly and viewers can meet the farm’s vets and see how they help the sheep flock.

There is also a host of online updates and activities from Reaseheath’s mini zoo.

Reaseheath shepherd Anthony Baggaley said: “Lambing is one of our favourite times of the year.

“Although we’re incredibly busy, having our lambing pens full of healthy newborns is very rewarding and is testament to all the hard work we’ve put in over the past few months to prepare the flock.

“While we’re sad that we can’t invite the public onto campus this year, we’re doing our best to share the best of the action from the lambing sheds so that our many followers can enjoy this early taste of Spring!”

Regular updates, including information on release dates and times, are being posted on Reaseheath College’s Facebook and Instagram accounts and the videos will be available on demand throughout and after the event.
