Police are investigating reports that a young teenage girl in Nantwich was approached by a gang of men who made “inappropriate comments” towards her.

The 14-year old girl was walking on the footpath next to the River Weaver, behind Manor Road North, when she was approached by three men.

The men, who are described as white and in their early 20s, made inappropriate comments towards her as she walked to school.

Two of the men were wearing black clothing, while the third man had ginger hair and was wearing a white coat.

Inspector Andy Smith, of Cheshire Police, said: “The victim in this case was left shaken as a result of the incident and we are doing all we can to trace the people responsible.

“Enquiries in relation to the incident are ongoing and I would urge anyone with any information is in relation to the incident to contact the team here at Crewe on 101 quoting IML 940413.”

The incident happened at around 8.10am on Tuesday March 16.
