The Crewe and District Regional Sunday football league will return to action on April 4 as national lockdown restrictions continue to ease.

The Government’s roadmap out of the pandemic sees outdoor sport return at community, local level from Monday (March 29).

It means the first fixtures in the popular Crewe Regional Sunday League this year will take place on April 4.

In the Premier Division, Faddiley will play The Lions, George & Dragon will host Betley FC, NHB FC will face Crewe Athletic and The Raven take on Willaston White Star.

In Division One, AFC Talbot host C&N United, Cuddington take on Broadhurst, Audlem face Sydney Arms, Sandbach Town take on Princes Feathers, Talbot host White Horse, and Winnington SC face up to Nantwich Pirates.

George & Dragon sit top of the Premier League on 18 points after winning all of their first six league matches before lockdown in December.

The Lions are in second on 12 points with Crewe Athletic third on 10 points.

Cheshire East Council has agreed to keep council-owned football pitches they maintain open until June 27 in order for the delayed leagues to be completed.
