Nantwich CC moved a step closer to a third visit to Lord’s by booking a place in the last 16 of the ECB National Club Championship.
The Dabbers have twice reached the final of the premier knockout competition and are three steps away from another trip to the Home of Cricket after a hugely impressive win at Didsbury.
The home side are top of the Cheshire Country Cricket League but were always on the back foot after Nantwich won the toss and elected to field first in the 40-over contest.
Mitchell Spencer led the way with the ball, reducing Didsbury to 21-3.
There was some resistance from the lower order but Jimmy Warrington, Jason Foulkes and skipper Ray Doyle all took a couple of wickets to help dismiss the home side for 145.
Although Nantwich lost Ben Wright early, they coasted to victory thanks to an unbroken partnership of 142 between Ali Chughtai (79no) and Rob Jones (53no).
The Dabbers will now face Knowle and Dorridge CC, from the Birmingham League, in the last 16 at Whitehouse Lane on July 6.
Success at Didsbury completed a fine weekend for the first team, who moved up to fourth in the ECB Premier League table with a hard-fought win at Alderley Edge.
After being put into bat, Nantwich struggled to make inroads against the home attack, with only Spencer Byatt (25) and Foulkes (30no) putting up serious resistance as the visitors were dismissed for 131.
But an inspired Ollie Griffiths led a brilliant response in the field against a home side that looked all set for a comfortable win at 55-1.
Instead, Griffiths took 5-12 in 14 overs and, supported by Doyle (3-46) and Spencer (2-29), spearheaded a 20-run Nantwich victory.
It took Nantwich into the top half of the table and they host Lindow CC at Whitehouse Lane on Saturday (June 21).
The game starts at midday and all spectators are more than welcome. The bar will be open all day.

5 for 12 Ollie? OMG!!
