A family-run pub near Nantwich is toasting its own success after scooping a number of awards.
The “Bhurty” Bhurtpore Inn in Aston won “Family Run Pub of the Year 2025” at the Cheshire SME awards as well as “Best Real Ale Selection 2025 in Cheshire”.
And it completed a hat-trick for the popular pub run by the Goodwin family after they were named “South Cheshire Camra Spring Pub of The Year 2025”.
Neil Goodwin, landlord at The Bhurty on Wrenbury Road, said: “We were very pleased to receive the South Cheshire CAMRA groups seasonal award for spring 2025.
“Thank you to them for coming in and trying the beers after our refurbishment of a very popular real ale pub.
“It was only in August 2024, we reopened inside properly, after a six-month renovation!
“The tipi, which we have kept now for private events, kept us going as the ‘pop-up bhurty’ while the work was completed.
“The pub was a frequently awarded pub under the previous owners, and that was one of the reasons we came in a lot during their time!
“It was always important to us to continue to offer a good choice of cask ales.
“Also, a huge thank you to our regulars and new customers, whilst they keep their enthusiasm for trying the ales, we can continue to buy a wide selection for us all to enjoy.
“Thank you to South Cheshire CAMRA for the award, support, and their recognition, it is much appreciated.”

Sophie Goodwin, pub and No.18 coffee shop manager, added: “We are over the moon and very proud to have been awarded these awards.
“We took over in February 2024, so to receive this recognition and support so early on, is great news for our family-run pub.
“It’s thanks to our hard-working staff, our regulars, and new customers which we meet everyday.
“Without your support – these awards and the recognition would not be possible! We look forward to a long future of hopefully more awards.”
