The 26th annual ‘Audlem Festival of Transport’ was hailed another huge success as thousands lined the streets, writes Jonathan White.
It featured a parade of more than 250 cars, commercial vehicles, tractors and motorcycles.
They drove from Hankelow Green to Audlem with the parade arriving at Audlem Playing Field off Cheshire Street.
Car lovers were in for a treat with a variety of marques on show including Alfa Romeo, Austin, Bentley, Ford, Jaguar, Land Rover, Lotus, Mercedes, Mini, Porsche, Rolls-Royce, and many more.
Vintage tractors from Massey Ferguson, Nuffield, Fordson and others were also on display, along with motorbikes from BMW, BSA, Honda, Kawasaki, and Suzuki.

Capturing the action on film was Richard Jones of the popular YouTube channel Old Classic Car, with a video of the event coming soon https://www.youtube.com/@oldclassiccarUK
There was also Glen Miller music from Moonlight Serenade, a Punch & Judy show from Pinxton Puppets, a Cheshire Fire & Rescue appliance, and several refreshments stands.
The free entry festival took place during warm weather, and was attended by between 3,000 to 4,000 thousand visitors.
It was supported by Cheshire East Council and Audlem Parish Council, as well as sponsors including Baker Wynne & Wilson and MK Preece Excavations Ltd, and programme advertisers EPG Security Systems Ltd, Overwater Marina, The Shroppie Fly, D A Roberts, Adderley Garage, The Lord Combermere, Audlem Public Hall, Mornflake, Bradshaws, The Village Chippy, and Graham Tresidder & Son.

Special thanks to PET Hire, Yvonne Parker, Richard Furber, Audlem Fire Service, Olive Stretch, Audlem Printers, and Barnett, Jones & Cooke.
Volunteers at Hankelow welcomed exhibitors, registered vehicles and marshalled the start of the parade, along with many who prepared Audlem field and acted as marshals for the parade of vehicles through the village.
Audlem Festival of Transport was organised by Audlem Special Events Team, a not-for-profit group consisting of a team of ten local residents, and a large army of invaluable volunteers, who organise two major annual village events every year.
