Music Festival - The White Lion Hankelow

The “Sounds of Summer” music festival is returning to community pub The White Lion in Hankelow this weekend.

The event is this Saturday August 16 from midday to late and will feature a range of live acts.

And organisers are promising it will be the biggest and best yet as the pub grounds will be transformed into a hub of live music, food, and community spirit.

This year’s main stage line-up features eight acts, blending homegrown new talent Ethan Walker as well as established favourites.

There will be performances by Callum Wright, Faye McCallum, rock veterans Gambler, and one to watch Tom Hodge.

Headlining is Mad Dog Davies Band, whose infectious mix of rockabilly, R&B, blues, and punk has earned them a loyal following.

In a fresh addition for 2025, there will be Buskers’ Corner.

This is designed to be a relaxed, acoustic space where up-and-coming musicians and singer-songwriters are invited to perform in an intimate open-mic setting.

There will be an outdoor bar, street food vendors, and an ice cream van.

The White Lion operations director Sian Cramer said: “The festival is a true highlight of the summer calendar for Hankelow.

“It’s about more than just great music – it’s about bringing people together.

“Whether you’re here to support local artists or simply enjoy a pint in the sunshine, everyone is welcome.”

Entry is free and all are encouraged to arrive early, bring a chair, and settle in.
