A three-day music festival for family and friends has raised more than £9,200 in memory of a loving Nantwich mum.
MeadowFest was held in Burland to raise funds for Blood Cancer UK.
Steph Thompson, from Stapeley, died from the condition last year and the event was organised by Steph’s husband James, their 10-year-old son Freddie and a team of family and friends.
The festival brought together hundreds of people to celebrate Steph’s life through music, activities and fundraising.

The weekend featured a musical line-up of performers from near and far, including Eddie Fuller, The Dodgems, Nigel Stonier, Red Spektor, The Gus Glynn Band and Laura Hegarty and The Midnight Sea and also included special guest singer-songwriter Lucy Kitchen.
DJs took over on the night with dancing into the early hours under the light of a huge full moon.
The entertainment didn’t stop at music,
It was opened in style by a classic tractor parade, led by Mike Harper on his Victorian steam engine.
Mark Edge’s “Play Your Cards Right” was also a huge hit and young Freddie wowed the crowds with his snooker exhibition challenges and trick shots, showing skill and flair that has already marked him as a local talent to watch.
Alongside the performances, guests enjoyed activities provided by Orbis Outdoor including axe-throwing and bumper balls there was also a raffle, tombola and silent auction, with prizes donated by businesses and individuals from Nantwich and beyond.

Energy was sustained with refreshments throughout the weekend provided by Tom’s Tap, Sorrento Pizzas and French Connection.
Special thanks go out to Paul O’Brien and James from Amplify Theatre Solutions for providing audio and lighting across the weekend, and to Paul Boniface as compere.
Nantwich Agricultural Society also donated £500 to the cause in memory of Steph who was key in setting up the Nantwich Show’s new sheep section as secretary.
James said: “The event had just the feel that we were looking for! Excellent music and entertainment for all ages and tastes.
“The weekend was filled with special moments, including a WWII Catalina (Flying Boat) Fly-past!”
Steph’s mum Janet said: “Steph was so special, so strong and is so greatly missed.
“This wonderful weekend was a joyful way to celebrate her life with so many friends and family and we thank you all for coming and extend thanks to those who donated but were unable to attend.”
The expanding team are already looking forward to MeadowFest 2026 and hope to make it even better.
