Nantwich Town secured a solid home victory over Cheshire rivals Congleton Town at a blustery Swansway Stadium.
Goals from Fenton Green and Paddy Jarrett were enough to secure the three points for the Dabbers in the Northern Premier League West clash.
Nantwich had the wind against them in the first half which proved a battle, but many of Congleton’s efforts sailed too long in the strong gusty conditions.
After a quiet half an hour, the hosts took the lead on 34 minutes when Fenton Green stole in to head home.
Again the weather played a part as a Joel Connolly free kick was held up in the wind as the keeper came for it, allowing Green to get there first and head past him.
The game looked to be heading into the break at 1-0 until Nantwich suddenly doubled the lead one minute into first-half injury time.
Alex Panter darted around the keeper in the box and pulled it back for Paddy Jarrett to fire home and make it 2-0.

Dabbers continued the press after the break with the wind at their backs. Byron Moore fired an effort which was well saved by Parton on 56 minutes.
Nantwich had a penalty claim on 66 minutes waved away when Bircumshaw went down in the box, but he was controversially booked for simulation.
Substitute Bower almost grabbed a third in the 77th minute when his opportunistic effort with bouncing ball hit the woodwork.
Both sides made numerous subs in the final 10 minutes, and Callum Saunders almost netted when he slid in but could not turn the ball home.
Nantwich continued to dominate the possession and comfortably saw out the final few minutes for a deserved victory.
The three points moves the Dabbers up to 15th place on ten points from six matches, with several games in hand on some of the sides around them.
