Income Tax is raised by 2% before the Budget announcement.
Just received my notification of the fuel allowance so checked on the Government website as I have an employment pension which I paid into from the age of 18.
The website reveals that my over payment will be collected by tax from April 2026 to March 2027.
Based on a allowance of £200 you will pay back £204 at £17 per month as per the website.
Is this the start of things to come. I suspect that many people in our area have employment pensions so it is worth checking if you are affected.
