Police are dealing with a number of flooded road incidents after 24 hours of heavy rain hit the area.

Storm Claudia dumped several inches of rain across South Cheshire yesterday and in early hours of today.

Roads such as Millstone Lane at Reaseheath and London Road in Nantwich were badly affected.

The A51 at Reaseheath was closed in both directions earlier today after a vehicle broke down in the flood waters.

Nantwich Police said: “We are responding to numerous flooded roads across the area with the latest being on the A51, Millstone Lane, Reaseheath.

“The road is currently closed in both directions whilst we await recovery of a broken down vehicle.

“We hope to open the road in the next 20-30 minutes which will be passable with care (especially from the Chester direction)”

  1. In 35 years of using this road I have never known it to flood. If the drains were recently cleared then the new housing development must be the cause.

  2. Linda Morgan says:

The Police were there when we came back from Chester around 4pm

  3. The road is still closed as of Sunday afternoon and no council or police are in attendance, be aware of traffic chaos on Monday in and around Nantwhich.

Shame the new bye pass is still not open, well done cheshire east for a great service as usual
